studioplusthree appointed for the REX Theatre

studioplusthree have been appointed to design an extension to the community-owned REX Theatre, in Charlton, Victoria. Built in the 1930's, the additions to this art-deco cinema will adapt the original cinema into a full live performance venue, providing a range of backstage and community facilities for this regional asset in rural Victoria. The REX is fully run and operated by volunteers from Charlton and the surrounding Buloke region - a working theatre celebrating the golden age of cinema.
